BKK HISTORY
In 1856, a 16-year-old boy from the Zhan family produced the very first BKK hook.
The young teenager did not know that his little action would be the force
driving force that would make BKK the high-quality company it is today.
Rusty hammers and creaking pliers, metal sticks everywhere.
A bunch of rudimentary machinery and a grinding wheel to sharpen the edges.
And smoke, lots of it, dust scattered all around. Tangled fishing lines hanging on the walls.
The water laps the bank in front, while people gather under the
porch to buy fishing hooks in the small, lively port of Poyang, China.
A fairly accurate portrait of the tiny laboratory overlooking the river
where the 16-year-old boy of the Zhan family made the first ever

Today BKK has a factory that employs around 600 people, an office in
Japan and an office in Shanghai that handles international sales,
marketing and branding.
A devoted passion for fishing drives a committed team of anglers
from Europe, China and Southeast Asia in research, creation and
experimentation with what we believe are simply the best hooks
to choose from, created by fishermen for fishermen.
Our unconditional passion for fishing is the real driving force that allows us
to truly satisfy the needs of the most attentive fishermen around the world.
That very first laboratory - in ruins, partly flooded is still standing,
still with its original sign with the inscription:

The most rewarding thing for our team is not just making sales or seeing the
result of our work, but rather in the process of researching, creating and testing
what we believe are simply the best hooks you can choose,
created by fishermen for fishermen.
BKK VALUES
When it comes to fishing, taking a position can be quite a challenge.

Some of us started at age five, some at age 10, and some quite late in life.

Fishing faces a kind of primitive call that you can't really
express in words.
When you find yourself covered in rain and smothered in mud, or standing in the
middle of a river with water up to the chest; when a storm hits
your boat and you would only dream of being on land, or when you wedge yourself
through a thick layer of shrubs in a tropical forest.
You willingly pull yourself out of the shelter of your comfortable routine, chasing the
desire to simply go fishing and maybe end up admiring
a fish. The thrill culminates in the catch, but the momentum has been building up since
from the moment you thought about going fishing.
