CAMO
Stiff rigs and combination rigs incorporating some semi-stiff monofilament have an incredible history of catching big carp all over the world.
This is because incorporating the right amount of stiffness into the hooklink prevents the bait from landing in a crumpled heap on the lead. It also helps to improve the anti-eject properties of the hookset and avoid tangles. The materials we have used historically have varied enormously, from memory-free hooklinks to high breaking strength Fluorocarbon, but until now they have all been a compromise between thinness and the right balance of stiffness.
With the introduction of Trick-Link we believe we have developed the perfect material for booms and stiff links. This superbly coloured, low memory monofilament hooklink material has been developed to balance stiffness with just the right amount of flexibility to allow the hooklink to settle just right. We all know that the best presentation will give the best chance of a bite...
Why is it so good?
Firstly, there’s the lovely grey/green camouflage ‘Choddy’ colour which blends in perfectly with the background of a wide range of aquatic environments including gravel, clay and sand, lakes, canals and rivers. Secondly, it has superb knot strength and ties neatly and vaporises well. All little touches that help your finished rig perform to its best possible potential…
To form the loops, we recommend using “Figure of 8” loop knots or the improved “Non-Slip” loop knot to form the nicest, neatest round loop and for maximum strength with the Gardner Trick-Link (please check the video in the Video tab for instructions on how to tie this knot).
SILT
This low memory material was developed to offer the perfect balance of stiffness and flex for use as a dedicated boom section on “D” style stiff links, hinged stiffs and combi-links.
Just like the original Camo Trick-Link, this new silt version has been developed to balance stiffness with just enough flexibility to allow the finished rig to settle just right. We all know that the best presentation will give the best chance of a bite.
The silt version is a fantastic colour to use anywhere, as the bottom of most lakes and rivers is littered with debris, such as sticks, decaying leaves, reeds etc., meaning that rigs tied with black lines look like natural threads that fish always see! The pigment content also makes Trick-Link Silt slightly softer than the original Camo "choddy" version.
Just like the original Trick-Link, the Silt version has superb knot strength and ties neatly and comes out straight. All the little touches that help your finished rig perform to its full potential.
