Another Gardner innovation! The unique line twist remover that allows you to control and manage the line twist build-up that always builds up in the main line when using the reel drag and free-spool/baitrunner mechanism, or after loading it for the first time.
Most anglers rely on the drag on their fishing reel when fishing, but most don’t realize that every time the spool of the reel turns 360 degrees, it is creating a single additional twist in the reel line. Now imagine how many times this happens when you are fishing for a carp, or the twists that are created in the reel line when a run occurs and the fish lunges at it accompanied by a shrill buzz.
Severe line twist will weaken the main line, cause tangles and tangles when casting, and can make the line unmanageable when adjusting bite indicators and changing tackle, etc. In normal use, a large percentage of the twist is pushed towards the leader as you retrieve and becomes concentrated in the last few lengths of line, potentially damaging it and leaving it coiled and messy, ultimately reducing its performance.
You can remove this twist, keeping your line in tip top condition for longer with one of our Spin Doctors.
Simply tie the Spin Doctor directly to your main line (without a swivel) when the line twist gets worse, cast out and retrieve. The Spin Doctor is designed to rotate counterclockwise during the retrieve, so it will remove the twist created by most fixed spool reels as you retrieve it.
Use the Spin Doctor weight best suited to your fishing distance.
The Spin Doctor works with any monofilament, copolymer or fluorocarbon line.
Gardner Spin Doctors are available in three sizes: 40g (yellow), 70g (red) and 100g (white).
Note: If the twist is particularly bad, start with a ½ length cast and retrieve, then make a second cast about ¾ length away and retrieve again. This will usually be sufficient and your line should now be free of twist and ready to be tied back to your rig.
